Hi friends! If you have some time to watch this ex-NFL player’s TEDx talk on ‘how to love and be loved’ until the end, it’s definitely worth it.
An ex-NFL player turned theology teacher Billy Ward talks about love + light by sharing an inspiring story about his kindhearted student/103-lb wrestler named Daniel with a contagious spirit who unexpectedly passed away. A real-life fairytale of two people finding love in life is also intertwined throughout the true story.
It just made me so happy – I had to share it with y’all! ☀️💕
How to love and be loved | TEDx talk with Billy Ward:
What was your favorite part? I loved the comparison to the sunshine, lighthouse, and disco ball. This talk embodies the meaning behind The Sunshine Within!
SOME of Billy Ward’s TEDx Talk HIGHLIGHTS:
We are here on this very earth to love and to be love. Love is life.
Picture the sun in the big blue sky… feel the warmth of her rays and consider how the sun continues to show up every day, sharing its light and energy unconditionally even on a cold February morning.
Is there someone in your life who reminds you of a disco ball? Who shows up with a fun-loving energy wherever they are or go, picture that person, and consider how they’re encouraging you to live in love.
I beleive the toughest guy in the room is not the football guy, it’s the loving guy. It’s the most manly thing that could ever be accomplished. It’s not that difficult to do, but it requires great though and courage.
I loved football because I thoguht it was one of the finest team sports… It’s all about relationships. Love is also a team sport, a team that we are all a part of. On this team, Daniel’s an all-star.
The same love in him is within us all. You are all worthy of love and belonging, just as you are, imperfectly perfect. And as you start to open yourself up to love, you learn to see it everywhere – creating a peace, a freedom, and a truth that will shift your overall entire experience.
If we can begin to make an effort to love and to be loved with out any conditions, we will bring a whole new level of meaning to our relationships and to our experience.
“Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth, ‘You owe Me’ Look what happens with a love like that, It lights up the Whole Sky.” –Hafiz
I don’t know about you, but I want to be more like Daniel.
