v u l n e r a b l e | for some, the word alone sends chills down your spine. It’s way easier to just not be, vulnerable. To play it safe. To choose comfort over your heart’s true calling. But you deserve better than that. You are better!
Yes, it can be scary to open yourself up to new situations, people, places, ideas, etc. To do things differently than you have before. But why? Obviously fear, but fear of what?
I think vulnerability comes from our lack of ability to see the future. Fear of the unknown. The idea that we’re in control. Maybe we think if we hold things back, or avoid uncomfortable feelings/situations, that we can somehow direct the outcome. But actually- the opposite is true.
When we show up half way – God can’t help us fully.
Here’s the good news: When we dive in head first – everything starts to fall right into place. The right people find you. The wrong people leave you. The job of your dreams falls in your lap. Opportunities seem endless, potential is everywhere, and happiness is bountiful.
Why? Because there is no better way to become who you’re supposed to be than to be who you are. In time, you’ll realize vulnerability is not weakness, in fact it is the biggest strength you’ve ever had. It’s the indicator you’re doing something right.
In reality, the weakest thing you can do is to deny yourself the opportunity to let things conspire. Let God’s plan for your life to unfold before your boldly beautiful, yet terrified eyes. It’ll be fun, they said.
